1. SETUP & PREP

Once you have completed your hardscape it is now time to thoughtfully plan and pick out your fish & plants! This part can get overwhelming quickly, sometimes it's nice to know someone with experience with the fish or plants you may be interested in purchasing!

A bit of my experience!
At my core I am an aquascaping NERD! When I first got into this hobby I started with a 5 gallon betta tank filled with fake rocks and plastic plants. One day I was sitting in front of it and wanted to change the look so I googled planted betta tanks…… Little did I know that was going to start a whole new chapter of my life.
I spent the next month consumed with any youtube video or article about aquascapes and everything it was. I WAS HOOKED.
But my first problem came quickly. I went to petco(i know) and bought what I thought were beginner plants and equipment. I was SO excited to set them up and have my first planted betta tank, but nothing went as planned…. All the plants melted and died, my water was cloudy, algae was growing fast and I didnt know what to do….
Over the next few years I went aquascaping cRaZy! I bought and set up so many different scapes and tried everything I could. I wanted to experiment with everything and that’s what I did!
Now today I have those lush aquascaped tanks I dreamed about while looking at that plastic betta tank and I want to share my knowledge and experience with YOU!
